Harbor Homes, Inc. considers its volunteers to be one of its most important and valuable resources. There are many opportunities to volunteer, from administrative functions to working with clients.

Q: What are the qualifications of a volunteer?
A: Sensitivity, honesty and trust, respect, flexibility and a desire to help

Q: Who volunteers?
A: Students, adults, older adults, interns

Q: What is the frequency of volunteering?
A: The range goes from one-time volunteers to weekly, monthly, or special events/fundraisers; Harbor Homes can work around the hours you have available.

Q: What skills is HHI looking for in a volunteer?
A: The needs are diversified:

  • Technical/computer expertise
  • Filing/copying
  • Mailings: stuffing/sealing/stamping for campaigns, newsletters, fundraisers
  • Companionship
  • Transporting residents – doctor appointments, grocery shopping, an ice cream
